Fresh from the Worth a Look crew

Five short stories about what we have changed lately and why it matters to you.

Pages open sooner

Nobody enjoys waiting on a screen, so we spent a few weeks trimming the fat. Pages now show up sooner, menus answer straight away and jumping from one section to the next takes no effort. You will not spot it in a screenshot, but you will feel it the next time you visit, and plenty of members have already said so.

More titles on the shelf

The shelves have been filling up. A good batch of new entries went in this month, spread over a handful of sections, and the team has more lined up. If it has been a few weeks since your last visit, pop back and see what turned up while you were away.

Comfortable on a phone

These days most people reach us on a phone, so we went back over the main screens with that in mind. Buttons are bigger, text is easier on the eyes and the menu no longer fights you on a narrow display. Phone, tablet or laptop, you should not have to think about it.

Something for the weekend

Planning a quiet Saturday or a lazy Sunday? The home screen now carries hand-picked collections to get you started. The team puts them together and swaps them around often, which makes them a handy shortcut to titles that would otherwise slip past you.

Members point the way

Quite a few of the changes in this round began as emails from members. Every message gets read by a real person, and several of the ideas above came from your suggestions. If something bugs you or could be improved, let us know. We would rather hear it than guess.
